Fatigued truck driving affects every driver...If we can help get the word out, we're happy to contribute.

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) August 30, 2014

The truck accident injury lawyers at Ft. Worth law firm Stephens, Anderson & Cummings have made a donation to P.A.T.T.—Parents Against Tired Truckers, an arm of the Truck Safety Coalition—as part of the firm's continued efforts to further educate motorists about the dangers of fatigued drivers and increase the visibility of this important road safety issue.

“We’re proud to put our support behind P.A.T.T., where we know the proceeds are going to help raise public awareness about a very serious problem,” said Jason Stephens, attorney and partner at Stephens, Anderson & Cummings. “Fatigued truck driving affects every driver in one way or another. If we can help get the word out, we’re happy to contribute.”

As described on its website, P.A.T.T. was formed in May 1994 in response to an accident that killed four teenagers. The group alleges that the truck driver involved may have been asleep at the wheel when the collision occurred. (1)

The group notes that donations fund P.A.T.T.’s ability to lobby for safety advancements on the nation’s highways. Additionally, contributions ensure that the proper resources are allocated to advocate on behalf of truckers on issues such as hours of service; availability of sufficient, safe rest areas; on-board computers and more. “We hope our donation will inspire others to support this organization,” Stephens said. “Advocating for truckers to receive adequate pay for hours worked and other important issues within the trucking industry is a great way help to solve the problem of fatigued trucker driving.”
