Warsaw, Poland has had its Fair Share of Americans this Summer, but one comes in Peace: Madonna and Mitt may have stirred up controversy in Warsaw, Poland, but Daniella Rabbani comes bearing an olive branch of Yiddish song. That’s right, Yiddish.

I can't wait to go! This is such a testament to time healing wounds and dreams becoming reality.

Rabbani is a third generation Holocaust survivor. Her return to Poland is bitter sweet but she comes to share songs and stories in a language that was heard all over the streets of Warsaw.

The young actress and Yiddish songstress, Daniella Rabbani, is set to perform in Warsaw, Poland’s 9th annual Singer Festival in Zalmen Mlotek’s 100 Years of Yiddish Theater. As The Warsaw Voice reports, "The festival is organized by the Shalom Foundation which since 1988 has worked to preserve the memory of the rich cultural heritage of Polish Jews. Since its inception, the festival has been dedicated in memory of Isaac Bashevis Singer, a brilliant Polish-born Jewish American writer whose international career won him two National Book Awards and the Nobel Prize in Literature."

Her Polish debut comes on the heels of two New York City performances and a slew of high profile commercials. Rabbani says, “My grandfather was from Poland and was forced to leave after the war. He worked hard, as did my parents, to build a life for his family so that I could have the freedom to be an artist. I can’t wait to go! This is such a testament to time healing wounds and dreams becoming reality.”

Since graduating NYU Tisch, Daniella’s performances have been hailed by the critics as “sympathetic and utterly alive” (NY Observer), “hysterical” (Wall Street Journal), and “the living embodiment of this fun, often sensuous music” (The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). Her Off-Broadway credits include Gimple the Fool and The Adventures of Hershele Ostropolyer. She is set to perform in The Golden Land Off- Broadway this Fall.
