Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 17, 2011
Critically-acclaimed author Tina Turbin has announced the holiday plans for her award-winning children’s title, Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy. According to the author, she and Imagination Publishing Group will be donating signed copies of the celebrated book broadly to causes in support of children’s literacy at this special time of year.
“With Ms. Turbin’s passion in supporting children’s literacy,” an Imagination Publishing Group representative said, “it only makes sense to make this contribution.”
Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy, the critically-acclaimed tale of how Jimmy and his family meet Danny the Dragon and his traveling companion, Skipper, is the recipient of numerous honors from prestigious awards programs including the iParenting Media Awards, the International Book Awards and the Mom’s Choice Awards. Praised by parents, educators, and critics for its pro-family themes and values, the title has generated international attention. Imagination Publishing Group has announced that efforts are underway to release Spanish and Greek translations of the celebrated children’s title.
Turbin has a long history of philanthropic work and is a renowned humanitarian in arenas such as children’s literacy, health, and the auto-immune disorder celiac disease. She is also a leading celiac disease advocate whose personal and non-profit website, http://www.GlutenFreeHelp.info, was chosen as number two out of 6.7 million registered .info websites around the world in the Best .INFO Website Awards Program of 2010. The website has become one of the most highly regarded web resources for the celiac and gluten-free community.
Turbin recently took the world by storm with her groundbreaking Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy iPhone and iPad app, which was developed by iStoryTime, the app developer for How to Train Your Dragon. Turbin’s iPad app features a reading of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy with sign language interpretation for the deaf and hard of hearing, the first of its kind. Profits are being donated to support literacy and other worthy causes.
“I’m very pleased to hear about the donations of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy to children broadly,” the author said. “Imagination Publishing Group’s generous gesture exemplifies the spirit of the holiday season.”
With her West Coast and European Book Tours behind her, Turbin has returned to her Los Angeles and Florida studios and plans to continue writing her Danny the Dragon children’s series and other books throughout the holidays. She hopes to be able to spend more time reading to children in libraries, bookstores, and hospitals and answering their many questions about Danny the Dragon. The author will keep her fans updated on her holiday activities on her Danny the Dragon blog at http://www.DannytheDragon.com/blog.
