Since its U.S. release, Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy has elicited much interest abroad
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 03, 2011
Critically-acclaimed children’s author Tina Turbin revealed her publisher’s plans for a Spanish translation of her multi-award winning illustrated kids book Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy. The announcement comes just after the author’s two month European Book Tour. An Imagination Publishing Group (IPG) marketing executives predicts the Spanish translation to fare “extremely well” in the Latin American children’s market.
“Since its U.S. release, Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy has elicited much interest abroad,” said an IPG spokesperson, “After the intense media interest generated by the release of the Danny the Dragon iPad app and the many requests for a Greek translation, it is like the right time for a Spanish translation.”
Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy is the celebrated first book in Turbin’s illustrated Danny the Dragon kids book series. The tale of how Jimmy and his family come across Danny the Dragon and his traveling companion, Skipper, the title is renowned for its pro-family themes and messages about mutual kindness. The book has received a number of esteemed honors from venerated awards programs including the iParenting Media Awards, Creative Parenting Magazine Award, the International Book Awards, and the Mom’s Choice Awards. The subsequently-released Danny the Dragon Dreams CD has garnered the prestigious 2011 Media of the Year Award by Creative Child Magazine in the category of Reading Interactive Picture Books.
Turbin recently captured widespread media attention with the release of a groundbreaking Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy iPhone and iPad app, which was developed by iStoryTime, the app developer for How to Train Your Dragon. The first of its kind, Turbin’s iPad app features a reading of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy with voice and sign language interpretation for the deaf and hard of hearing. Before launching her European Book Tour, the author received a series of prestigious awards and First Prize for Best Illustrations in the highly competitive Purple Dragonfly Book Awards for its illustrations by Aija Jasuna, a resident of Latvia Europe.
“The English version of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy has been so well-embraced,” the author said in an interview in Los Angeles after returning from her European book tour, “I can hardly imagine what the response will be once the title is released in Spanish and Greek.”
The release date of the Spanish translation of Danny the Dragon Meets Jimmy has yet to be released by Imagination Publishing Group. An IPG representative says all sorts of additional excitement and interest surfaced during and after Turbin’s European book tour, “With the intense response, the author continues to be hard at work as always either writing or promoting.”
