Bidding Commences On the Advert that Lasts Forever

Bidding has commenced on Dare Comics' Perpetual Advertisement. A number of brands have expressed an interest in this innovative advertisment, which has captured imaginations around the world.

London, England (PRWEB) July 7, 2009 -- Bidding is underway on Dare Comics' Perpetual Advertisement. Innovative publisher Dare Comics is using eBay to auction the world's first perpetual advertisement. Dare is selling a full page advert in every one of its online publications in perpetuity. Dare Comics founder, Adam Hamdy, said, "We originally thought of the perpetual advertisement as an innovative way to bring ourselves to the attention of media buyers, and it's worked - we've had a number of traditional advertising bookings from companies whose marketing budget does not stretch to a bid on the perpetual advertisement. However, larger organisations have really engaged with the concept of the perpetual advertisement."

With the first bid in at GBP £10,001 (US$16,000) the perpetual advertisement represents tremendous value for money. The auction ends on July 12th 2009.

Adam Hamdy said, "In the current economic environment, media buyers are looking for ways to stretch every advertising dollar. The perpetual advertisement is a real opportunity to do just that, and we've had interest from buyers representing companies in a variety of market sectors."

The winning bidder will be buying a full-page, fully interactive advertisement in all of Dare Comics' current and future online publications. This represents a full page advertisement in four existing issues of The Hunter, twenty-two issues of Starmaker: Leviathan, which is currently in production, and all Dare Comic's future online publications. The advertisement can be altered up to twelve times per year.

Adam Hamdy said, "Our advertising is unsual because it offers companies full page display advertising online, giving brands a large share of screen space to get their message across. But it also offers total flexibility and interactivity, giving advertisers the opportunity to embed interactive elements such as hyperlinks, video and audio. Whether you look at it as a display ad, or on a CPM basis, the perpetual advertisement is a unique opportunity that cannot be missed. This could be the smartest media purchase anyone ever makes."

An unique combination of offline and online distribution has led to Dare's debut title, The Hunter, rapidly becoming one of the most widely read comics in the world. In just over two months, the first issue has topped 58,000 readers online and is on track to grow its readership to over 200,000 by the end of the year.

Adam Hamdy, said, "Digital and social networking technology means this advert could last forever."

The readership of The Hunter tends to be young men between the ages of 14 and 34, and geographically the readership splits between the US (27%), the UK (25%), Europe (25%) and the ROW (23%).

Adam Hamdy said, "The Internet is evolving rapidly so our readership will change over time, but we're already penetrating key markets. Our core readership is one that appeals to entertainment and sports brands, and a wide variety of purely online businesses."
