Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) January 29, 2010

Dare Comics today announces that its critically acclaimed comic, The Hunter, is to be published and distributed by OM Publications throughout India from March.

A contemporary superhero comic set against the backdrop of organised crime, The Hunter launched in 2007 to widespread critical acclaim and quickly built an international readership currently standing at more than 130,000 through its innovative print and online distribution strategy.

Writer and creator Adam Hamdy is pleased that an Indian audience will see The Hunter and is excited to be entering this rapidly expanding entertainment market. “Working with OM Publications is a great opportunity to see The Hunter introduced to a wider audience, and with huge growth expected in the Indian entertainment market in the coming years it is definitely a place we want to be.”

With comparisons already being drawn to some of Marvel Comics' best work, Dare Comics, which was founded by Hamdy, is rapidly establishing a reputation for publishing quality comic books. Aint’ It Cool News awarded high praise to The Hunter, saying: “The Hunter harkened back to Stan and Jack’s best work at Marvel."

Published in English, The Hunter will be available monthly through bookshops and on newsstands throughout the sub-continent. The initial run will be a 13 issue series of 22 page comics.

OM Publications have secured the exclusive distribution rights of The Hunter in India. OM Publications Chief Executive Officer, Ravi Shankar, says, “The Hunter is a unique comic series with highly compelling characters and storylines that appeal to the global marketplace. We are tremendously excited about the prospect of publishing and distributing The Hunter throughout India.”

“The Hunter has proven very successful in the European and American markets and we expect Indian fans will be as excited about this new superhero,” says Ravi Shankar.

It has been a fruitful few months for Dare Comics with the announcement in December that Los Angeles-based production company, Scarlet Fire Entertainment, has come on board to produce the movie adaptation of The Hunter. Hamdy will produce the movie adaption alongside Scarlet Fire, as well as write the feature screenplay.

OM Publications are announcing this deal to distribute Dare Comics The Hunter in Hall 3-5, Booth 28, at the New Delhi World Book Fair, the largest book fair in the Afro-Asian Region. 30 January – 7 February 2010.
