“Bound by Fire” (ISBN: 978-146793-8693), authored by Ronald Craft, is the first of a trilogy series that is now available on the Nook, Kindle and in paperback on Amazon.com. A dark fantasy novel – it cleverly displays anti-hero elements and links its characters through past and circumstance.

“I was prompted to write ‘Bound by Fire’ because I’ve always been an avid fantasy reader, but became tired of ‘the knight in shining armor’ characters,” says Craft. “I wanted to give readers a darker look at fantasy and to provide them with insight into characters who were not going to save the world. This is that book – it’s gritty fantasy and shows the darkness of the human heart.”

At the core of the novel are one ancient promise and a forgotten treachery. Together, seven souls, bound by fire, begin their quest for the truth.

The main character, Ilian, has the heart of a god sealed inside him. When Karena, a beautiful red-haired assassin, kills his father and rips his soul from his body, Ilian quickly enters into a rivalry that has been going on for hundreds of years.

Evil lurks around every corner in this epic fantasy and the characters spiral to a conclusion that may change the world forever.

“Bound by Fire” is the first of a new dark epic fantasy series that will visit places long forgotten by man. The plot entwines the reader in the lives of these seven souls who are all connected by more than just fate.

Craft hints that the characters’ traits in the next two books in the trilogy may gradually change through the course of the story.
“Additionally, I’ve really focused on writing about the fantasy world in a realistic manner,” explains Craft. “I want the reader to relate to the surroundings and circumstances so I spent a great deal of time doing research prior to beginning my writing. In areas where I deviated from the norm, I was careful to include details to make it believable.”

“Bound by Fire” is available for the Nook and Kindle for $2.99; or in paperback version for $12.30 on Amazon.com.
