Temple, TX (PRWEB) November 10, 2008
ACS Data Recovery, a premier provider of hard drive data recovery services, and Fix That Mac, Inc. an Apple / Mac repair center based in Berkeley, California have teamed up to form an exclusive partnership to help students who may have lost their data due to a severe hard drive crash. Fix That Mac, is located just off the west entrance to the University of California Berkeley, and therefore college students and faculty of the university make up a large part of their customer base.
"Data loss can have a catastrophic effect on students, just like it can on businesses," stated Greg Duffield, President of ACS Data Recovery. "Unfortunately many people don't realize the amount of work and skill involved in data recovery, and they are somewhat shocked by the prices they are quoted. In the computer and IT industry it is by far one of the most specialized practices there is, similar to a neurosurgeon or heart specialist in the medical field. So recovery costs can often times run into the thousands of dollars. Many companies won't budge on those prices, so it leaves the customer in a bad spot, especially in these tough economic times. If you're a student, it can be even worse. Fred White of Fix That Mac, Inc. wanted to address this issue, so he and I came up with a program that we feel will benefit his client base tremendously."
That program is being tested exclusively at the Fix That Mac store in Berkeley. Customers of the store will receive special pricing on data recovery services. Recovery work on all physically failed hard drives, regardless of capacity and size that are brought into Fix That Mac, will be performed for a low, flat-rate price. This price is roughly 50% off the normal recovery cost, and about 1/3 the price of some of the other big data recovery firms. This program isn't just limited to Mac users, it also applies to PC and Linux based storage devices as well. "With our extensive knowledge and experience in recovering from physically failed hard drives, and being that we do all of the work in-house in our own Class-100 clean room, it affords us the ability to test different programs like this without sacrificing the quality of our work. In the end, we hope we become a valuable asset to some of the students who may have the unfortunate experience of losing their data due to a hard drive crash," added Duffield.
In addition to the new student pricing initiative, Fix That Mac is also the newest certified Regional Affiliate of ACS Data Recovery. "Our Regional Affiliate Program is a win-win solution for computer repair and IT management companies," stated Duffield. "Not only do these companies vastly increase their revenue sources, but they also expand upon the services and solutions they currently provide. There's nothing worse than not having a solution for your customer's problem. With our services, it greatly increases your chances of being able to help your customer when they have lost their priceless data." The Regional Affiliate Program offered by ACS Data Recovery, is one of the most robust revenue sharing models available in the industry. Unlike most reseller programs where a vendor just gets a discount on services, the program offered by ACS Data Recovery also earns a vendor income from local jobs forwarded to ACS. "Say one of our customers needs their data recovered, and they just want to drop it off some place locally" Duffield explained. "They would take their drive to one of our Affiliate locations, and we would then schedule a pickup with the Affiliate. The Affiliate then earns a 25% revenue share on the recovery just for making life more convenient for our customer."
