B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group’s Vice President of Operations, Dave Makarsky, was recently named a winner of Washington SmartCEO’s 2012 Smart CXO Award. The SmartCXO Awards celebrate the distinguished achievements of 40 of Greater Washington’s finest management executives for their creative management vision, leadership philosophies, innovative strategizing, and undeniable work ethic.

As the head operating officer for B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, Makarsky is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company’s portfolio of 18 full-and-select-service hotels, two IACC-certified northern Virginia conference centers, and their numerous food and beverage outlets, including their proprietary Irish-style American pubs, O’Malley’s Pub. With over 25 years in the hospitality industry and robust background in both operations and human resources, Makarsky is the creator and company champion of B. F. Saul Company’s internal brand and service excellence pledge, “Our Big Three.”
