Historic Dearborn Michigan Hotel, The Dearborn Inn, Completing $5.5 Million Renovation

Hotel in Dearborn MI, commissioned by Henry Ford in 1931, refurbished with regional flair.

Dearborn MI (PRWEB) April 8, 2008 -- The Dearborn Inn, A Marriott Hotel, began a $5.5 million renovation in December, 2007, and now the American classic hotel has a fresh new look. The comprehensive renovation of the Dearborn Michigan hotel includes the 229 guest rooms throughout the main inn, the Burbank, and McGuffey buildings, as well as all first-floor meeting space including the Dearborn Ballroom, ideal for an event in Detroit. The final phase of the renovation includes upgrades to the Concierge wing, which will be completed in mid-June.

Commissioned by Henry Ford in 1931 and situated near Ford Motor Company Headquarters, The Dearborn Inn was the world's first airport hotel, and the new décor will reflect this unique history. Thematic art with an emphasis on Henry Ford, Ford Motor Company, and the American automobile industry will grace the guest rooms and corridors of the hotel in Dearborn MI--offering guests an authentic perspective on the region.

In addition, the Burbank and McGuffey buildings at the Dearborn Michigan hotel will feature design elements and art related to Luther Burbank, a horticulturalist and a pioneer in agricultural science, as well as Dr. William Holmes McGuffey, educator and author of the "McGuffey Readers." Henry Ford admired both Burbank and McGuffey's work and their contribution to American history.

Already some of the most attractive and versatile meeting space in Detroit, the Inn's renovation will span virtually all pf its 15 meeting rooms. The hotel in Dearborn MI boasts 17,000 square feet of meeting space, which will receive carpeting and paint, as will the Ballroom, a popular setting for a Dearborn wedding reception.

Guest room upgrades at the luxury Dearborn Michigan hotel include: flat screen, 37" televisions with plug n' play connectivity panels for PC, MP3 players, and more; new furniture throughout including plush Marriott bedding; and beautiful new carpet, furniture, and window treatments. Guest baths at the Dearborn hotel will feature new tile floors, wood shelving, marble counters, curved shower rods, and Kohler faucets.
