At the beginning of this year I began to see that they were beginning to struggle with staying busy. I jumped right in and began to help clients cut their budgets and reduce expenses.

Debt Counseling specialist Susan Balcomb provides financial education to help individuals and families get out of debt and manage their finances as they plan for life events. Susan is announcing a series of financial education webinars that teach people how to manage their finances, and provide a working plan that will help them maintain financial independence for the rest of their lives.
We asked Susan about their new financial debt counseling webinars and how they help people to improve their personal financial situation. "Our clients can now participate in webinars that teach people about consumer rights including how to deal with collection companies, dealing with secured and unsecured debts, working through foreclosures or bankruptcies, dealing with identity theft, and most important, how to figure out how much money you have and what your priorities are with paying those bills. You also receive a coaching session to evaluate your progress. Our objective is to help individuals and businesses work through their financial questions and planning".
Being an accredited financial counselor requires a commitment to client confidentiality, and a sincere interest in seeing them get out of debt, and accomplish their financial goals. For this reason, Susan's philosophy is to educate her clients, and help them learn how to make the right decisions when evaluating their money. "The strategies we teach our clients are always within their control, and the actions are put into place by the client themselves, not us. We believe the best way to learn to manage your finances and not get into a financial bind is by doing it yourself. As long as you are committed to working through the process we're here to help you. Once you have completed our program, you will have the tools necessary to not only get out of debt, but remain debt free and make your money work for you."
With the current economic conditions, and the slowdown in the construction industry in particular, Susan estimates that nearly 50% of her clients are on unemployment and many have come to her for bankruptcy financial counseling because they are struggling to find a new job. The lack of available jobs makes financial matters very difficult, but with Susan's hands-on approach, many of her clients have been able to do more than just survive, they have been able to maintain their quality of life and are now on the right track to a better financial future. "At the beginning of this year I began to see that they were beginning to struggle with staying busy. I jumped right in and began to help clients cut their budgets and reduce expenses."
