What I love about BLUEPrint is that you have 50 peers from different companies and sizes in one room. It is interesting to get together and solve challenges…I’ve learned several things that I will take back and implement immediately.

Blue Ridge, a leading provider of SaaS demand forecasting, replenishment and analytics solutions, recently hosted BLUEPrint 2012, the 5th annual conference for demand forecasting, planning and replenishment professionals. The conference was held in Stone Mountain, Georgia and had the highest attendance to date. The continuing upward trend in BLUEPrint attendees is a promising testimony to the success of the conference.

The Blue Ridge team kicked off the first day by revealing a newly developed inventory analytics tool, the Inventory Income Statement. This new capability enables demand planning and replenishment professionals to analyze key performance indicators and make decisions considering the impact to their companies’ bottom-line.

Special guest speakers from Tractor Supply, Henry Schein and NB Handy shared their success in implementing Blue Chip Buying programs. The program provided the framework to tie better inventory replenishment performance to bottom-line results for the companies. Attendees learned that following in these industry-leaders' steps can increase profitability, cash flow, service levels, and supply-chain efficiency.

Participants said that one of the primary values of BLUEPrint is the knowledge-sharing between the demand forecasting, planning and replenishment professionals at the conference. The event fostered a community environment as well as a forum to develop best-practices. “Coming to this event has been very beneficial. Talking to other [participants] to get best practices…you can benchmark yourself with others in the industry. It’s great,” stated John Herbert, CLARITY Champion and Frozen Buyer at Van Eerden Food Service.

At the end of each day, the Blue Ridge team hosted roundtable discussions to ensure participants of the conference could learn from one another and collaborate on strategic, long-term inventory optimization plans. “What I love about BLUEPrint is that you have 50 peers from different companies and sizes in one room,” noted Keith Driscoll, Purchasing Manager at Monroe Hardware. “It is interesting to get together and solve challenges…I’ve learned several things that I will take back and implement immediately.”

There is already growing momentum for next year’s conference on the heels of this year’s event. Many attendees expressed their wish to return to BLUEPrint each year to learn about the newest best-practices and tools for demand planning and inventory replenishment professionals. “I come to BLUEPrint to network and hear all the new things [Blue Ridge] has been working on. We want to challenge ourselves,” stated Kristie Craven Product Manager and Blue Chip Champion at NB Handy.
