“We strive to make ECS a company that employees are proud to work for. Recognizing and encouraging hard work is certainly important, but we also promote an enjoyable work environment,” states Beth Marcinkowski, Director of Human Resources for ECS.
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) February 21, 2013
Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc. (ECS), one of the largest and longest tenured demand response providers in North America, has been named a finalist for Business First’s 2013 Best Places to Work in Western New York. This marks the sixth straight year that ECS has been nominated for this award.
Founded in 2001, Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc. is a pioneer of the demand response industry, having over 12 years of experience offering their PowerPay! Demand Response programs to thousands of commercial and industrial facilities across North America. ECS pays large end-users of electricity to reduce their electric consumption during the rare days of high stress on the electrical grid. ECS and its large portfolio of customers take action to alleviate the high demand during those days in an effort to re-stabilize the grid and to prevent emergencies such as blackouts and brownouts.
The company has enjoyed tremendous growth and success over the years. Out of thousands of WNY companies, ECS has become a finalist in the Buffalo Business First competition and is now up against 10 other organizations of similar size for this prominent award. Businesses are sorted by the number of employees and ECS falls in the “large” category, ranging from 101 to 200 employees. In order to be nominated, companies must receive an impressive score on a survey given by Quantum Research, in which employees anonymously share their opinion on a variety of topics ranging from employee benefits and workplace environment, to management style and growth potential.
“We strive to make ECS a company that employees are proud to work for. With many opportunities for advancement, ECS offers extensive training for all employees, new and old. Recognizing and encouraging hard work is certainly important, but we also promote an enjoyable work environment. Organizing summer picnics and holiday parties creates a workplace that encourages camaraderie and support between employees,” states Beth Marcinkowski, Director of Human Resources for ECS.
The nominated companies will be featured in a special section of Business First on March 8th.
