Livingston DiMarzio Baptista, LLP is pleased to announce that their law partner Dennis M. Baptista has been reappointed to serve a third consecutive three-year term as a Judge of the Phillipsburg Municipal Court. Baptista will continue to remain an active full time attorney and workers comp litigator with the Livingston law firm.
"We are all delighted with this reappointment. Dennis is one of New Jersey's foremost petitioner's worker's compensation attorneys and has a well-deserved reputation among the compensation bar for being a respected practitioner of great integrity," said founding partner, Frank DiMarzio. "The Phillipsburg community will benefit from his reappointment and he will continue to bring distinction to the Municipal Bench."
Baptista is a long-time resident of Phillipsburg, NJ, and served on the Board of Commissioners of the Phillipsburg Housing Authority from 1998 until 2007.
Baptista has been Certified by the Supreme Court of NJ as a Worker's Compensation Law Attorney since 2006. To qualify for certification, an attorney must be at least a five-year member of the NJ Bar and have completed numerous continuing legal education courses. In addition, the attorney must show a substantial involvement in the preparation of litigated matters, and demonstrate primary responsibility for a large number of trials in the New Jersey Workers Compensation Courts. Less than 1% of New Jersey's attorneys are certified by the Supreme Court as having the credentials and experience required for this distinction, and even fewer of that number are petitioner's attorneys who represent the worker.
Baptista received his B.A. from Rutgers University - Newark College of Arts & Sciences in 1982 and his JD from Rutgers - Newark Law School in 1985, and is a member of the New Jersey Bar. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ), and the New Jersey Advisory Council on Safety & Health (NJ COSH).
