Modern Home Tours returns to Denver on Saturday, June 2, 2012. The self-guided driving tour features eight architecturally progressive and contemporary homes in the Denver area that exemplify modern living, and address issues from sustainability and green-living to ergonomics and elegant aesthetics.
“We are very excited to be back in Denver on June 2nd,” says Modern Home Tours co-founder Matt Swinney. “Denver has such a deep well of modern architecture and style. We have a great list of exciting homes for our tour participants to explore on our second visit, including one that has its own airplane hanger.”
The current list of the architects and neighborhoods featured in the 2012 Denver Modern Home Tour include:
- A home designed by Michael Knorr & Associates in University Hills
- A home designed by Alvarez Morris in South Alameda
- Two homes designed by studiotrope in Park Hill (Denver) and Erie, Colorado
- A home designed by Smiths Architects in Curtis Park
- A home designed by Angelo Marasco in Platte Park
- A home designed by Studio H:T in Highland
- A home designed by Bothwell Davis George Architects in West Highlands
Ingrid Spencer, former managing editor and current contributing editor for Architectural Record magazine in New York City, curated the tour and selected each home. Participating homes will open their doors from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 2, for viewing. The 2012 Denver Modern Home Tour is being presented by Haiku Fans. Tickets are $25 in advance; $30 on the day of the tour, available at designated locations. Partial proceeds of the tour will benefit a local non-profit (to be announced).
