DerbyBox.com, http://derbybox.com, a Louisville area travel and tourism company that specializes in providing all-inclusive packages and premier seating to thoroughbred racing events, announces it has seen a big demand for travel packages and quality seating since the Breeders Cup has returned to Louisville.

“When the Breeders Cup was here in Louisville the last time, demand was high and business was very good for us,” says Doug Dearen, owner of DerbyBox.com. “Our Breeders Cup volume really dipped in 2007 when it was held in New Jersey and also in 2008 and 2009 when it was in California. This year, however, with just a few days before the 2010 Breeders Cup, DerbyBox.com’s sales have doubled what was recorded in 2006.

“One big reason for the increase in demand is Zenyatta,” says Dearen. “Everyone wants to see a super horse and she is on everyone’s mind.” The thoroughbred mare who remains undefeated in 19 starts -- twice in the Breeders' Cup -- is a favorite in this weekend’s race. Dearen says that 2010 could be one of the best Breeders Cups in recent memory and will no doubt add to the rich horse racing history that is associated Churchill Downs.

Dearen adds, with the demand for the Breeders Cup being so good, they’re anticipating the demand for the Kentucky Derby will be through the roof. Typically, the demand for Kentucky Derby packages surpasses that of Breeders Cup by eight-to-10 times. The Derby is only six months away, coming up May 6th and 7th.
