We’re creating a way for brands to engage their fans online with a twist on their standard merchandising programs.
LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) August 14, 2012
Fantastic.me, a new social commerce company in Santa Monica, is partnering with sports, entertainment, and gaming brands to allow fans to design and sell licensed merchandise online.
Fans can simply choose a brand, or enter a sponsored promotion. After creating a design, they upload and share it with the community. Other fans vote, and the top designs are produced and sold directly back to fans. The designer gets paid a percent of sales for merchandise they design.
“Like 99Designs and Threadless, we crowd source designs from fans, but instead of a contest driven approach with a single winner, the community chooses and the designer gets paid a royalty instead of a prize", said Dan Ellis, CEO and founder of Fantastic.me. “Rather than designing another logo for a small business, our community designs and engages with real brands they care about."
“We’re creating a way for brands to engage their fans online with a twist on their standard merchandising programs.”
Fantastic partners with brands through a licensing agreement, and creates a new revenue channel for brands. Current brands have not yet been disclosed outside their beta product.
Licensing is a $180 billion dollar industry globally, and major brands like Disney, Warner Brothers, the NFL, and NBA generate a large percentage of their revenue from licensed merchandise sales.
Fantastic.me is currently testing in private beta, and is adding new brand partners and fans daily. To request an invitation and access to the beta, you can go to http://www.fantastic.me
