With over 150,000 designer lighting products, Lighting by Gregory needed a better solution to help customers find products and information quickly on their web site. Customers were complaining and sales were suffering. After upgrading their site search and making other improvements conversion rates have soared almost 40%.

The company saw its online sales channel grow but their site search was slow and it was hard for customers to find the information they needed. Search results couldn't be refined. The company noticed that most customers who purchased products only did so after spending significant time looking for products using the site navigation.

Lighting by Gregory implemented SLI's technology to improve site search and search engine optimization. Search results are more relevant and the customer experience has improved. "It has been an absolute pleasure working with SLI. We have changed our site search changed our pages so many times...response has been spectacular. As we work closer and closer with SLI we see our conversions continue to increase," said Daniel Pfeffer, Lighting by Gregory's CEO.

The company understood that choosing the wrong vendor could be fatal to a business. "SLI seemed to understand our business, able to completely customize our package every single time we needed to make a change. We have more traffic to our web site coming from natural search, on search engines like Google," said Pfeffer.

Lighting by Gregory got immediate results and have seen growth rates 60% year over year. The site search is easier to use, and it's much faster to find products and information. An improved site search has also benefited employees. Customer service calls are more efficient as agents use site search to quickly find information to answer questions about products.

Using tools like site search and Omniture's SiteCatalyst, the company has been able to optimize their site and increase ROI. They've been able to see how people navigate the site and continually make the site more usable. "Our product line is very dynamic - we carry over 300 brands of decorative lighting. We're constantly adding and removing products and prices change frequently. We needed to see how these factors affect sales. Being able to track user behavior has helped us determine which new manufacturers to carry and given us insights so we can continually optimize our web site," said Pfeffer.
