Sarasota, FL fitness instructor and owner of Designer Fitness, Darla O’Brien recently presented her Motion Empowered (ME System™) fitness training program at the 2012 IDEA World Fitness Convention. O’Brien was selected to lead a session titled “Motion Empowered – Begins with Alignment” where she introduced the ME System™ to fitness instructors from around the globe.
O’Brien created the system based on her experiences with clients in her more than 25 years of training and work in the fitness industry. The ME System is designed to help clients build a safe foundation for individualized fitness training and to make daily activities an effective way to maintain physical fitness.
“I found it easy to help my clients keep correct form while training with me in the studio,” said O’Brien “but I wanted to make sure that they had an easy-to-understand way to maintain that solid foundation in their daily activities outside of the studio environment.”
The 30th anniversary IDEA Convention brought more than 5,000 international fitness industry professionals to San Diego, CA to participate in conference sessions that covered “the hottest research, trends and most advanced fitness programming delivered by world-class educators and thought leaders.” The conference featured the presentation of the 2012 Jack LaLanne Lifetime Achievement Award to Jane Fonda.
O’Brien was selected to be part of this prestigious group because of her innovative approach and dedication to building strong foundations for physical fitness. She now continues her work at Designer Fitness as she prepares for the nationwide launch of the ME System.
