Client Refresh Workshop March 9, 2011

Dell and Intel are strong Abacus partners, and it is great that we can leverage their expertise to create such a comprehensive, informative event.

Abacus Solutions, an IT infrastructure solutions provider, will be partnering with Dell and Intel to host a Client Refresh Workshop at the Abacus Headquarters in Marietta, Ga. Attendees will have the flexibility to choose which Dell and Intel sessions to attend throughout the day.

This workshop will feature key solutions offered by Dell, Intel and Abacus. The four, one hour sessions will be presented in a break-out group format. The four focus groups will be New Client Products, Systems Management with KACE, Client Virtualization and Storage.

In the New Client Products session, Dell will showcase their huge new suite of client products built on the just announced 2nd generation Intel iCore processors. Refreshing desktop and laptops is an important project for all companies, regardless of size and budget. Dell and Intel partner to offer the newest, top-of-the-line products at a great price.

In the Systems Management with KACE session, a Dell KACE expert will demonstrate the capabilities of KACE. Dell’s new KACE appliance makes management of Intel architecture-based solutions easy, and also helps ease migration to Windows 7. KACE saves time for systems administration professionals, while also saving money for the company.

Learn more about the benefits of desktop and thin client solutions in the Client Virtualization session. Attendees will learn about the flexibility, better management, and increased security benefits of virtual client technology, whether thin or fully featured. This centralization of computing via client virtualization helps information technology (IT) departments reduce hardware costs and lets them set up new desktops in a matter of minutes rather than days.

In the storage session, Dell will present their latest storage solutions, including both iSCSI and Fiber Channel. The acquisition of Compellent will deliver on Dell’s commitment to provide its customers solutions that are open, capable and affordable. Compellent expands Dell’s award-winning storage solutions, which now offers customers innovative systems and choice at every storage tier, from direct-attach to highly-virtualized SANs.

“Dell and Intel are strong Abacus partners, and it is great that we can leverage their expertise to create such a comprehensive, informative event,” said Joe Thompson, Vice President of Channels and Marketing. “We look forward to showing our customers everything that we can offer, as Abacus and through our strong partnerships.”
