Vatterott College In Des Moines Increases Course Programs

Vatterott College, 7000 Fleur Drive, is currently enrolling students for the new Medical Assistant with Limited Radiography Technology and the Medical Assistant with Office Management associate degree programs and the Electrical Service Technician diploma program.

The Medical Assistant with Limited Radiography Technology program is a 70-week Associate of Occupational Studies course geared to get graduates ahead in the game. Medical Assistant with Limited Radiography Technology training in Des Moines includes training in lab and office procedures, radiography procedures, radiation biology, safety and pathology. This program equips students with the skills necessary to pursue a career in both the administrative and clinical areas of the medical assistant field.

The Medical Assistant Office Management degree program is a 70-week program designed to educate students for the medical assistant field with a separate and additional focus on Office Management. Students will study the fundamentals of medical assisting with additional courses in human resources, HIPPA and OSHA regulations, accounting and insurance billing. After graduation, students can pursue a career in private medical offices, medical clinics and hospitals.

The 40 week electrical technician program in Des Moines provides hands-on training that includes electrical assembly, installation, and service and repair.

Students will learn about working in compliance with private, state and federal OSHA requirements. This program focuses on residential, commercial and industrial installations, DC & AC systems, wiring diagrams & schematics, green electricity, motor theory and control, and programmable controllers.

Day and evening courses are available for the medical assistant training and electrical technician programs. Vatterott College offers practical hands-on-training and career assistance. The Vatterott Campus in Des Moines also offers the following occupational studies degrees: Computer Systems and Network Technology, Dental Assistant Specialist, Diesel Mechanics, and Medical Billing and Coding. Diploma programs are offered in Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Maintenance Technician, Medical Assistant Occupational Specialist, and Information Systems Security. This campus boasts twenty classrooms, a learning resource center, a student lounge, a diesel mechanic area with a large shop that can hold up to three full size semi cabs and three welding areas with all the proper safety equipment.
