Entrepreneur Susan Axelrod Launches Susan’s Sweet Talk

When my team first approached me about writing a blog, I didn’t feel as though I would have anything to say; however, the more I thought about how I started my company, the more I realized I had quite a story to tell.

Susan Axelrod once again finds herself ahead of trends within the dessert industry. Thirty-seven years after becoming one of the few female entrepreneurs of the 1970’s, Susan is taking her experience and expertise out of the kitchen and into the blogosphere. She recently launched Susan’s Sweet Talk, a blog chronicling her challenging and often humorous journey towards starting her own dessert company, now known worldwide as Love and Quiches Desserts. Already gaining notoriety, Susan’s Sweet Talk is one of the first blogs written by a dessert industry professional and is poised to become a regular read for all audiences.

Susan has quite the story to tell. A housewife in 1973, she had never held a job and was lured into starting a dessert company by a friend who greatly admired her culinary skills. Over the next thirty years, Susan took the company from humble beginnings in her kitchen and turned it into a global brand, establishing herself as a well-known and respected entrepreneur within the dessert and restaurant industries. As with any start-up, the path to success was filled with trial and error, accidents and unexpected victories, but all the events along the way led to an amazing story that Susan is now ready to share with the world.

“When my team first approached me about writing a blog, I didn’t feel as though I would have anything to say; however, the more I thought about how I started my company, the more I realized I had quite a story to tell,” says Susan. “Everything I learned was in the line of fire, and I want to share it all, both the pain and glory, including all the advice I only wish I had.”

Three months after its onset, Susan’s Sweet Talk has attracted a steady following. Susan’s stories, from how she first learned about wholesale suppliers, to how she started selling desserts to well known restaurants including O’Neal’s Balloon, Charlie’s and J.G. Melon’s, are proving to be inspirational to young entrepreneurs and entertaining to her fellow dessert professionals. Readers are also privy to Susan’s witty humor and commentary interjected throughout her posts, making her blog a must-read each week.

With helpful tips for both cooking and starting a business as well as laugh-out-loud stories, Susan’s Sweet Talk appeals to blog readers of all ages and interests. Visit her blog at http://www.susanssweettalk.com and, as Susan says, in the meantime “Make someone happy—serve them dessert!”
