The Links Course

Members of the military are very important to us at Sandestin. With several military bases in our own backyard and surrounding cities, we wanted to show our appreciation and give thanks for all that our military personnel do each and every day.

Destin, FL (PRWEB) July 31, 2012

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort salutes military men and women this Labor Day with free golf green fees and a special free night offer this August 31 - September 3.

Located on Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast, Sandestin has been named one of the Top Golf Resorts in the country, and voted the “Best Resort” by Emerald Coast Magazine. Sandestin was also recently named one of the top “Family Beaches” by iVillage.com.

Active and retired members of the military are invited to play on Sandestin’s three championship Destin, Florida golf courses, Raven Golf Club, Baytowne Golf Club, and The Links Course. The only cost will be the golf car fee of $20. Golfers can call 850-267-8155 to book their tee times and are not restricted to times on any course.

Sandestin extends its gratitude further, with its participation in national Patriot Golf Day. Sandestin, along with golfers nationwide, is calling patriots—including guests and local residents—to action by asking them to add $1 to their green fee or make another donation amount of their choice that will go directly to the Folds of Honor Foundation. Folds of Honor is a non-profit organization that provides post-secondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of military men and women who were disabled or killed while serving our country. The Patriot Golf Day Campaign is jointly supported by The PGA of America and the United States Golf Association.

“Members of the military are very important to us at Sandestin. With several military bases in our own backyard and surrounding cities, we wanted to show our appreciation and give thanks for all that our military personnel do each and every day,” said Rick Hileman, Director of Golf at Sandestin.

For all individuals or families wanting to have a great weekend getaway for the Labor Day holiday, Sandestin is offering a free night with the purchase of two at one of its Destin vacation rentals. Separately, there are special military rates available as well. For details, call 1-866-91-BEACH or visit http://www.sandestin.com.

To make the most of an already great weekend, Sandestin’s very own Village of Baytowne Wharf sponsors the Baytowne Art Walk, a weekend good for the art and soul with world-class art and live music in the Village Events Plaza. Exceptional artists featured in the area’s leading galleries from across the southeast will gather for this three day festival, which runs from 5-10 p.m. over the holiday weekend.
