North Star Destination Strategies to Sponsor the Southeast Tourism Society’s Voluntourism Project

North Star Destination Strategies is partnering with the Southeast Tourism Society to sponsor the Voluntourism project at the upcoming STS Spring Meeting. The STS Spring Meeting 2010 will be hosted at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, March 22nd through the 24th. The Voluntourism project will be held at the Hermitage on Monday, March 22nd.

North Star Destination Strategies is an industry leader in the field of community branding and destination marketing and has worked with over 100 communities across the United States. The community branding specialists are proud to have worked with many Southeastern communities including Columbus, Georgia, Goldsboro, North Carolina and Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Southeast Tourism Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and development of tourism throughout the Southeast United States. It was founded in 1983 with eight member states—Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia and Arkansas joined later. The STS membership is approaching 1,000 individuals who represent a wide range of travel-related businesses and organizations. This year the STS will hold their annual meeting in Nashville from March 22-March 24.

The North Star sponsored Voluntourism project is open to all attendees of the STS Spring Conference 2010. It begins at 8:00 am on Monday, March 22. The focus this year is on The Hermitage - home of President Andrew Jackson. Volunteers will spend the morning working to clean up and beautify the grounds of this esteemed location. Lunch and transportation from Loews Vanderbilt Hotel will be provided to all participants.
