Women need a confident, strong voice in order to break the...generational curses of abuse...what happens to a child – grows into the person. We all have carried the scars of abuse into relationships, marriage and parenthood.
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) April 16, 2011
Diamond Daughters Inc is a nonprofit organization that literally arose from the rough. On March 16th 2011, a family of women, who have collectively endured some form of abuse in one way or another throughout their lives, came together with a dedicated plan to find ways where abused women could be empowered.
The founders of Diamond Daughters Inc., are Jessica Miller-Epps, Tamika Cook, Janice J. Richardson and Monifa Reel-Spain. These women have found a calling in life to be the vehicle for those who just don’t know where to turn. They have created a purpose via Diamond Daughters, that will allow women to stand up against the horrible and often generational attack against their dreams, aspirations and spirit. Diamond Daughters’ goal is to break these curses and build women up to be victors in the war against sexual battery.
Many people find it difficult to acknowledge an assault, let alone recover from one. Most don’t understand the physical and/or psychological effects that take place when they finally come to terms with the fact that they have been a victim of sexual abuse. Diamond Daughters' mission is to show women how to reclaim their victory by reclaiming their lives back from the abuser...whether it be sexual, verbal, mental or physical.
Diamond Daughters Inc seeks to work alongside churches, schools, prisons, community groups, and other organizations by facilitating local speaking engagements; work alongside affiliate conferences; as well as establish self-help 'Diamond Daughter Clubs throughout the region. All of these opportunities will be geared towards promoting Diamond Daughters' three steps of surviving abuse:
*The first step, they strongly believe to end abuse, is to talk about it - claim it
*The second step is to do something about it, seek help and educate ones self.
*The third step is to help someone else - give back
The grassroots nonforprofit intends to provide free forums where women from all walks and industries of life can come together and share testimonies, wisdom, education, prayer, unity and love. They want to extend all of these facilities to women for free, because what was freely taken CAN be freely restored. The goal is to aid in the building of a Diamond Daughters Club where women of the organization can continue to inspire, educate, expand and lift-up each other within their own communities.
One of Diamond Daughters' members, Lorraine, expressed how much she appreciated what the organization was doing. "All families need to learn the warning signs and listen to what is spoken and more importantly what is NOT spoken. I am so proud of this endeavor, this achievement. God is real good". Jessica Miller-Epps, one of the founders of Diamond Daughters Inc, said, "Women need a confident, strong voice in order to break the, often times, generational curses of abuse. What most people don’t understand is that, often times what happens to a child – grows into the person. We all have carried the scars of abuse into relationships, marriage, and parenthood. "
Diamond Daughters Inc is not a professional counseling service. They desire to work hard at helping women find the right resources they need for their particular situation through the help of progressive volunteers, productive donations, affiliates and referrals; as well as, with positive support groups, precise education and pertinent information.
Breaking the yolks of generational curses caused from abuse– be it sexual, verbal, mental, physical or even related to substance abuse and issues with weight, in order to expose women as the gems they really are, will take a lot of passion, work and action. Diamond Daughters Inc is truly prepared to 'mine' for these beautiful treasures.
