World Without Me
World Without Me celebrates life and let's one Live Digitally Forever!

World Without Me, the Personal Data Preservation and Digital Afterlife Solutions portal, was launched today. World Without Me gives tools to curate one’s Autobiography and Legacy to live digitally forever. The website was running invite only beta for the last couple of months.

What's Digital Afterlife? Our parents inherited legacies from their parents in photo albums and boxes. How will we pass on the legacy to our children? We are the first generation to create significant Digital Assets and it’s important we curate and preserve our assets for the next generations.

On the launch of the new service Bhaskar Thakur, the founder, said, “ World Without Me celebrates Life and the biggest motivator for creating World Without Me was the worry that my family may not be able to access my digital assets and other sensitive information after I die. I wanted to save them from the painful hassles and unnecessary legal counsel which most major websites put you through to access a deceased person’s assets.”

An account on the World Without Me helps curate and preserve all important emails, digital document, Facebook updates and Tweets. The World Without Me Footprint is like your autobiography that you curate everyday without much of an effort. You can share it with your Family and pass it on as your legacy after you die. World Without Me also let’s you send Dispatches (messages into future) and start and participate in private discussions. Inheritance of Digital Assets shared with friends and family on World Without Me is controlled by World Without Me Trigger.

In the last couple of months about 1000 users were invited and have tested the service. “We have had some great suggestions and learnings from our Beta users” added Bhaskar. Talking about recent changes and the future plans for the website, Bhaskar said “World Without Me currently lets users curate their autobiography from email, documents, Facebook Updates and Tweets. With the changes we applied today, Footprint is now more Shareable and Personal. There are two buckets in the Footprint – Personal and Social. Personal Footprint includes emails and documents and Social Footprint includes assets archived from other platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Users may share Personal and Social Footprint with different sets of people.

“We are now ready for the world!” Bhaskar signed off.
