From producers of power transmission equipment, to manufacturers of hydraulic equipment applications and developers of weighing systems for agricultural control systems, the PKP2200 is flexible and rugged enough to meet nearly any application need.
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
Digital Switching Systems (DSS), a leading provider of rugged open-source keypads, has announced yet another milestone in its PowerKey Pro family, the PowerKey Pro 2200 Digital Keypad. The PowerKey Pro 2200 (PKP2200) mirrors Digital Switching System’s popular PowerKey Pro 2400 (PKP2400) model, but opens a new range of applications due to its compact size.
Like the PKP2400, the PKP2200 features large, round keys with bright, multi-colored LED indicator rings around each. The icons on each of the keys are interchangeable with any of Digital Switching Systems’ hundreds of pre-designed icons, or with custom icons created to meet each customer’s needs.
New to the PKP2200, up to three add-on switch ports are available for additional buttons, rocker switches, toggle switches, or whatever the customer’s configuration requires. Each switch port also comes with an indicator circuit to power indicator lights on the switches and transmit CAN or RS485 messages, making them appear to the BUS as thought they were additional buttons on the keypad.
These new features have already made the PKP2200 an appealing keypad to a wide range of manufacturers across multiple industries. From producers of power transmission equipment, to manufacturers of hydraulic equipment applications and developers of weighing systems for agricultural control systems, the PKP2200 is flexible and rugged enough to meet nearly any application need.
“The PowerKey Pro has proven to be an enormous asset across multiple industries, with new uses and applications for it being created every day,” said Eric Vaughn, President of DNA Group, parent to Digital Switching Systems. “With the PowerKey Pro 2200 model, we’ve taken everything that’s great about the larger 2400 model and reduced its size to enable even more applications for manufacturers with limited space on their dash. This milestone continues to strengthen Digital Switching Systems’ position as the supplier of choice for flexible and rugged digital keypads.”
