Denver, CO (Vocus) November 13, 2009
SchoolFusion, a leading provider of K-12 website solutions, is proud to recognize the following SchoolFusion clients that recently ranked in the top 10 of the 2009 Digital School District Survey: Prince William County Public Schools, Marietta City Schools, Tornillo Independent School District and Charlton County School Systems.
The survey recognizes school districts across the country that show mastery and innovation in their use of digital technology to interface with students, parents and the community, as well as govern districts, and manage overall operations. Participation in the survey is open to all U.S. public school districts with the schools showing the most comprehensive use of technology chosen as the top ten ranking districts.
SchoolFusion had representation in all three of the district size categories. Prince William County Public Schools in Virginia won 2nd place in the large school category (more than 15,000 students). In the medium category (2,501 – 15,000 students), Marietta City Schools in Georgia received a 10th place nomination. In the smallest category (less than 2,500 students) Tornillo Independent School District out of Texas took 2nd place, and Charlton County School Systems of Georgia ranked 10th among the winners.
Debra Picket, Educational Director and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction at Marietta City Schools in Georgia, speaks to the importance of incorporating 21st century technology in our schools. “Digital educational tools can no longer be considered an optional method to deliver instruction. It is critical for our students to have the knowledge and skills to easily navigate with digital tools in this information based society. SchoolFusion provides a cost-effective, rich set of digital tools to give our students the educational experiences they need for their lives and their work in a digital world.”
SchoolFusion would like to congratulate all schools on the Digital School District Survey list and thank them for their commitment to incorporating educational technology in the classroom.
