A Fortune 500 telecommunications company tapped into direct mailing lists with Mailing Lists Direct division of Alesco Data, LLC to target wireless users who weren't current customers. As a result it significantly increased market penetration for its Wireless Mobile Broadband service.
The company's broadband service isn't new, but most consumers did not know about it. The mailing was intended to increase awareness and add new subscribers to the service.
The client also wanted to tout the flexibility of customers having internet access where and when they want it. The client's direct mail piece was a full color, oversized postcard. The offer was a free wireless modem with a 2-year sign up.
Using a proprietary Cellular Model coupled with a customized set of credit and demographic selection criteria, Mailing Lists Direct provided a mailing list of just over 88,000 creditworthy households in their client's trade market area. The client's customer list was suppressed from the prospect business mailing list prior to mailing.
Mailing Lists Direct recommended several additional selection criteria that significantly increased the performance of the mailing list. This slightly reduced the size of the list but also eliminated a lot of waste.
