Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 31, 2011
Direct Energy, an energy provider serving millions of people across North America, will be offering their services to the bottom half of the Illinois area starting Sept. 26. The new market includes most of southern Illinois and some of central Illinois as well. Direct Energy will now provide competition to the current local energy provider, Ameren.
Ameren customers can save around 16 to 20 percent if they switch to the new services provided by Direct Energy. In this unpredictable economic climate, it's important that customers find competitive Illinois electricity rates. With Direct Energy, customers know what to expect every month, because they offer fixed rates on energy use.
Direct energy is offering a 12-month fixed rate of $0.0534 per kwh, for customers in the Ameren, Illinois service area exclusively. This great rate is not guaranteed forever, though, so be sure to lock in on this rate before the deadline.
The rate includes energy and transmission charges and excludes the purchased electricity adjustment, purchased electricity charges, supply cost adjustments, taxes, and other utility-related charges. Also, if your account is classified by your electric utility as a space heating account, you will not be eligible for this promotion.
Direct Energy is one of North America’s largest energy and energy-related services providers and is a diverse, vertically-integrated, financially strong North American energy company that is growing. The company provides customers with choice and support in managing their energy costs through a portfolio of innovative products and services.
Direct Energy has more than six million residential and commercial customer relationships in 21 states and the District of Columbia in the US, and 10 provinces in Canada, and serves more residential customers than any other competitive energy retailer on the continent.
