The Yampa River is one of the last great wild rivers in the world
Jensen, Utah (PRWEB) March 12, 2013
Adrift Adventures, a wilderness whitewater rafting company in Dinosaur National Monument, offers buy-one-get-one half off adult rates for select multi-day rafting trips to include a four-day Yampa River launch on May 29, 2013; and three four-day Green River launches scheduled for July 5, July 11 and August 23, 2013.
The regular adult rate is $785.00 per person for these four-day rafting trips in Dinosaur National Monument, but with the discount it averages out to $588.75 per person with two people, according to Eileen Peterson, general manager at Adrift Adventures. She said the regular youth rate is $250.00 for kids 12 and under.
“These are two of the most sought after multi-day rafting trips in the west.” Peterson said. “We had some launch dates open up late in the booking season so we want to sell them quickly.“
The four-day Yampa River rafting trip meanders 72 miles through the heart of Dinosaur National Monument, according to Travis Hochard, operations manager at Adrift Adventures. He said this rafting trip is normally run in five days, but the time of year and expected peak runoff allows for a shorter itinerary.
“The Yampa River is one of the last great wild rivers in the world,” Hochard explained. “Its free flowing nature allows a small window for rafting, so this is a rare opportunity to see it at peak flows of the season.”
The four-day Green River rafting trip meanders 44 miles starting at Gates of Lodore in northwest Colorado and ending at Split Mountain Campground in northeast Utah, according to Hochard.
“The Green River not only offers great scenery and whitewater, but you get to follow part of John Wesley Powell’s route in his famous expedition west, “ Hochard said.
All Adrift Adventures rafting trips in Dinosaur National Monument include first to last day lunch, group camping equipment, personal rafting gear, large dry bag, transportation to and from the river, and entrance to the Dinosaur Quarry after the trip, according to Hochard. He said sleeping bags, sleeping pads and tents are available for rent.
“There are no roads near the river on either rafting expedition, so all food and gear is packed on rafts and brought to a remote camp each night,” Hochard explained.
Adrift Adventures has provided fully guided rafting trips in Dinosaur National Monument since 1980. Choose from one-day and four-day rafting trips on the Green River; and four-day and five-day rafting trips on the Yampa River. Daily rafting trips are offered mid-May – Labor Day.
