William Newton Hospital maintains physical and virtual servers for database functions such as electronic medical record keeping, financial, inventory, lab and radiology information, and Point of Care charting. Medical Verification is also used at patient bedside via wireless Chart Carts and PDAs, along with a radiology image storage and retrieval system.

"With PerfectDisk 10's virtual awareness capability, we are no longer experiencing the severe system slowdown on our servers that we were with Diskeeper," said Randy Mayo, director of IT and Special Projects at William Newton Hospital. "PerfectDisk automatically determines guest and host activity to eliminate resource contention and minimize the impact on our shared storage. The result is faster systems, improved productivity and better service to our patients."

"We're pleased that our pioneering work with virtualization defragmentation is providing direct benefits to the doctors, staff and patients of William Newton Hospital," said Joe Abusamra, vice president of operations at Raxco Software. "Businesses around the world are realizing the true benefits of virtual awareness defrag, and William Newton Hospital is a great example of PerfectDisk 10's application in a virtualization environment."
