St. Louis car crash lawyer John Page of Page Law is proud to support the video, “Distracted Driving is Like Driving Blind”. The video has been launched on the Page Law YouTube channel.

By displaying this video, the firm aims to spread awareness of the many potential dangers of distracted driving, specifically texting while driving, to help prevent motor vehicle accidents in Missouri and throughout the United States.

The distracted driving video hosted by Page Law begins innocently enough. A person is driving. However, as the video progresses, it is clear that the motorist in the fictitious video has one hand on the wheel and the other hand is holding a cell phone. The driver is texting while driving. As text messages are sent and received in the video, the material of the text messages pop up in bubbles in front of the driver’s windshield, blocking the motorist’s view of the road. While this display is conjured and doesn’t really happen in real life, the dangerous affects of how texting while driving significantly impairs a motorist on a visual, manual, and cognitive level, couldn’t be truer.

With the advancements in technology have come great benefits. However, we seem to be addicted to our cell phones, even when we are behind the wheel of a vehicle that weights thousands of pounds and we are traveling many miles per hour. The distracted driving video provided by Page Law is one way to help promote the risks of distracted driving so that fewer motorists give in to the temptation of texting while driving or carrying out other cell phone uses while driving. This reminder is especially important in a state like Missouri, which only has a ban against texting while driving for motorists 21-years-old and younger. The video also emphasizes that most of the messages people send through texting are not that urgent. Texting can wait until a motorist is not driving.
