R.E. Peters Company offers its clients expertise and industry connections built over the nearly three decades Peters spent as director of construction for Fieldstone Communities' California division. Peters is one of the most well-known and widely respected experts on the state's development scene, having overseen the design, construction, and warranty of more than 12,000 homes. His firm focuses on problems faced by lending institutions, land owners or court-appointed trustees after taking possession of troubled assets. Those assets could range from large, partially built residential communities, to scattered collections of single-family homes in foreclosure, to incomplete commercial projects such as shopping malls.
Last year, the BIA/OC launched The Asset Opportunity Group, which organizes conferences, workshops and small roundtables, to assist members who are actively involved in distressed assets. The goal of this group is to provide a meeting place both real and virtual - for everyone involved in the issue of troubled assets, whether they are commercial, residential and industrial properties, or notes and mortgage pools.
