AthleticScholarships.com, a leading provider of college athletic scholarship and recruitment information, has recently released detailed Division I women's basketball recruiting guidelines for each player position. The guidelines serve as an overview of what college basketball coaches and recruiters consider to be the ideal statistics for high level, 5 star recruits.

Players should understand that evaluating prospective recruits is not an exact science and some factors can't be measured. Players also don't need to necessarily meet all the requirements identified. Those that meet one or two requirements will likely still generate interest among Division I NCAA women's basketball recruiters and coaches.

Rick McDole, Director of Recruiting Operations at NCSA Athletic Recruiting Network, points out that, "players who earn the most attention from division one schools stand out at an early age. The guidelines are meant to prepare student athletes better for the recruitment process and improve their odds of securing a position on a Division I NCAA basketball team as well as a women's basketball scholarship.
