DMV.us.org is creating a driver safety package to help their customers become safer drivers, the company announced yesterday.

“One of the reasons people use our service is to check their driving history and make sure they've paid all of their traffic tickets,” a company spokesman said. “That lets us know that many of them could use a refresher course on the rules of the road.”

The guide will be provided to everyone who does a public records check using the company's search service, he said.

“Right now, we are having driving experts prepare the report to make sure it’s as accurate and helpful as possible,” he said. “We want to give people practical information they can really use.”

The package will include tips on defensive driving, how to avoid road rage, the most common reasons people are pulled over, and what to do when dealing with a traffic cop, he said.

“This will be a very comprehensive guide that will cover any and all topics people need in order to drive safely and legally,” he said. “We think it will be a great value to everyone who reads it.”

The report will be ready for release in the next two to three weeks, he said.

“We want to make it as perfect as possible,” he said. “This could not only help people save money, it could save their life.”
