DMV.us.org is now going to make an effort to provide more used car information as part of their new members only research website, company officials said.
“We've always provided our customers with the information they need from the department of motor vehicles,” a company spokesman said. “But now we want to give them access to even more documents than before.”
Employers have used the service to do background checks on job applicants. Other people have used it to make sure that a new potential romantic partner would be safe behind the wheel and not have a string of drunk driving charges.
“We've now gotten requests for documents relating to vehicles as well as people,” the representative said. “So, it makes sense for us to start providing that service to the public.”
The members only section will include used car articles for people who are thinking of buying. The system will tell buyers about information on buying used cars, as well as share driving tips for the website's main service of driving records.
“People want this information to make sure they are not getting ripped off when they buy a used car,” the representative said. “We had to update our advice articles a bit to make it useful to car buyers.”
The company said they were going to solicit feedback from customers to make sure that the new information section meets their needs.
