EZ Dock, Inc. recently announced that the company has been chosen by the Eton Excelsior Rowing Club (EERC) to install a new dock system for the Club's boathouse location just outside of Windsor, United Kingdom.
Eton's objective was to find a modular dock system that could be used to launch rowing skiffs in the varying water depths of the Thames River. After careful review of several dock manufacturers, EZ Dock was chosen because of its modularity, excellent stability and its ability to be ballasted down to the adjust freeboard levels for rowing skiffs.
"This isn't the first time that EZ Dock has been chosen as a dock vendor for a rowing club," said Sharon Wahrmund, product manager for EZ Dock, Inc. "However, Eton Excelsior Rowing Club is one of the most prestigious and oldest rowing clubs to which we have supplied our EZ-Dock product. EZ-Dock is excited that Eton Excelsior Rowing Club selected EZ-Dock as their dock provider due to our unique pylon design, which creates the most stable modular floating dock system available, and which is perfect in waters such as the Thames, where water levels vary. This allows for easy loading and unloading of the boats," continued Wahrmund. "Considering the Club's long history of rowing events and the fact that the Club's roots date back to 1826, we knew Eton Excelsior Rowing Club was a prime place to showcase our product. Additionally, the 2012 Olympic rowing events are scheduled to take place just opposite of Eton at Dorney Lake, so we wanted our equipment there to show other rowing enthusiasts how stable, durable, and modular the EZ Dock system is."
