When Newmarket Public Library visitors see the quality of scans the Zeta book scanner can give with such incredible ease and speed, they will be amazed.
Ontario, Canada (PRWEB) June 27, 2013
The Zeta is a plug and go non-destructive book scanner that provides high speed scanning in a high resolution format. Scanning speed is three seconds per scan and standard image resolution is 300 dots-per-inch with an optional upgrade to 600 dots-per-inch available.
The Zeta technology is well suited to high-document use applications, such as libraries, educational institutions, archives and offices. The Zeta book scanner reduces paper by allowing users to save scans in a variety of digital formats, and then storing them on a USB key or sending via e-mail.
Using a similar interface to a tablet, the Zeta operational panel is easy to use. Built-in software automatically corrects crooked pages and distorted letters in book folds.
“We’re very excited to add the Zeta Scanner to our library,” said Todd Kyle, Newmarket Public Library CEO. “It’s simple to use and produces beautiful documents.”
Michael Russell, Digital Services Librarian added, “the library’s knitting club loves the way you can scan a pattern from a book and print it in colour, or share it digitally. The Historical Society is digitizing documents from their archive. We encourage people to bring in their memories to scan and, with their permission, we will mount them on our website.”
“Bound book scanners that give faulty, low quality scans are things of the past,” said Kevin D’Arcy, vice president of sales and marketing at MES Hybrid Document Systems, Inc. “When Newmarket Public Library visitors see the quality of scans the Zeta book scanner can give with such incredible ease and speed, they will be amazed. Scanned documents have never looked this good.”
Located in downtown Newmarket, Ontario, at 438 Park Avenue, Newmarket Public Library provides resources and activities to stimulate community dialogue and lifelong learning, and encourages the development of local history resources through digitization of newspapers and other documents. Located on the Library’s lower level, the Zeta Book Scanner is free to use for all visitors.
