ColumbiaSoft has been named a Microsoft Front Runner for Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2. The document management company plans to release its next version of the Document Locator document management system, which is compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, in mid-September ahead of Microsoft's release of the next generation of their Windows and Windows Server software.

The Front Runner program is designed to assist and recognize Microsoft Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) like ColumbiaSoft who are early-adopters and are developing on the very latest Microsoft technologies.
ColumbiaSoft's team of software engineers developed and tested the next version of Document Locator, version 5.3, using access to software development kits and early Release Candidate versions of Microsoft's software months ahead of general release dates. This allowed ColumbiaSoft to complete development of its next generation of document management software early and prepare for a release date in mid-September, about a month in advance of Microsoft's expected release of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.
Document Locator is a Windows document management system that integrates with the most common business applications used by people on a daily basis, simplifying the management and collaboration of information across the workforce. Version 5.3 will be compatible with both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
