Customers can quickly and reliably perform one-step importing to Documentum and Documentum Compliance Manager from content and metadata files with Q-Transfer™ Lite.

As an initial run, we were able to migrate 100,000 records at a rate of 10,000 records per hour using Q-Transfer™ Lite. This transfer rate even included post-processing, such as auto-number assignment

Impact Systems Inc., (, a leading provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software tools and services, today announced a new product addition -- Q-Transfer™ Lite -- to its suite of proprietary software tools designed for Documentum.

Responding to customers' needs for simplified one-step content and metadata importing to Documentum, Impact Systems developed Q-Transfer™ Lite. Q-Transfer™ Lite includes dynamic verification against a repository's data dictionary, which saves a significant amount of time (nearly 40%) typically spent cleansing metadata.

Impact Systems developed the solution based on market feedback from customers looking for high-volume bulk load functionality at a dramatically reduced price point. As organizations struggle with economic pressures, reduced staff, and the need to do more with less, they are looking for Documentum software tools like Q-Transfer™ Lite to save time, cost and risk as they manage content across the organization.

In addition to being fast and reliable, Q-Transfer™ Lite is easy to use. With an interface similar to an Excel® spreadsheet, the software can be used by a typical user to bulk load content - it does not require permission rights of a systems administrator. Another key feature is that at the end of the import, Q-Transfer™ Lite creates both a success and a failure log for easy reference. Q-Transfer™ Lite can run via multiple stations to further increase transfer rates.

"As an initial run, we were able to migrate 100,000 records at a rate of 10,000 records per hour using Q-Transfer™ Lite. This transfer rate even included post-processing, such as auto-number assignment," said Sean Scott, CIO, Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice. "Use of the Q-Transfer™ Lite software tool has saved us a substantial amount of time and effort migrating our records to our new EMC Documentum repository, allowing us to have a working Documentum platform up and running in a much quicker timeframe, " said Scott.

Impact Systems' Q-Transfer™ Intelligent Content Transport software received the prestigious Designed for EMC accreditation in 2007. Q-Transfer™ is a unique, leading-edge software tool that allows customers to reduce the time and cost of transporting large amounts of content, metadata and related content plus governing rules in a verifiable, repeatable manner, resulting in a rapid Documentum migration or deployment.

Q-Transfer™ Lite customers include Womble Carlyle, a national law firm, a state agency, and a pharmaceutical company. Additionally, Q-Transfer™ customers include global and national life sciences, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, a global contract research organization, and a global computer manufacturer.
