Lianne Hassen, co-owner of Sit Means Sit™ and renowned dog trainer has achieved a perfect score at the 'Excellent B' AKC rally competition held on April 5th and 6th, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada with canine partner, Super Tank 2, otherwise known as Tank. Hassen and Tank, who have only been competing in Rally competitions since February of 2008 is setting a fantastic example of how much can be achieved with the Sit Means Sit™ training program.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 24, 2008 -- Lianne Hassen, co-owner of Sit Means Sit™ and renowned dog trainer has achieved a perfect score at the 'Excellent B' AKC rally competition held on April 5th and 6th, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada with canine partner, Super Tank 2, otherwise known as Tank. Hassen and Tank, who have only been competing in Rally competitions since February of 2008 is setting a fantastic example of how much can be achieved with the Sit Means Sit™ training program.
"Tank was a rescue and had been in two homes before he came to us. The first was a family with two small children and a senior mini poodle and as a large black Labrador retriever, he was just too much for them to handle. He ended up in a foster home and that is when Fred, my husband and co owner of Sit Means Sit™, came across him. Tank was 10 months old at that time and started him with our Sit Means Sit™ training techniques the same day that we met him and have achieved awesome results," said Hassen.
Sit Means Sit™ is a revolutionary dog training technique using a combination of traditional dog training methods and the use of the Sit Means Sit™ electronic dog collar. The remote electronic collar sends signals to the dog to maintain attention and improve communication between handler and pet. Rally is a dog training sport where dog and handler must complete between 10 and 20 tasks that are created by the judge of the competition. The number of tasks is determined by the level of difficulty and the dog and trainer must perform the course "on the fly." In Rally, there are courses for Novice, Advanced and Excellent and each level requires a different level of communication between dog and handler. Some tasks involve movement and some involve stationary activities; the beginner levels are on leash while the advanced levels are off leash. Teamwork and communication are critical and strongly encouraged in this sport.
There are two classes of competition, A and B. The A Class is for dogs that have not participated in competition before while the B Class is for those that have competed in the past and have qualified for the next level. To achieve a perfect score in the advanced level of the B Class is the highest level of achievement in Rally.
"We so excited with our success in Rally. I felt this would be a great sport for Tank because he took to it immediately," continued Hassen. "Tank already has his RN (Rally Novice), RA (Rally Advanced) and has two legs towards his RE (Rally Excellent). We can't wait for our next competition!"
