We are beyond thrilled to have top trainers like William Berloni joining us in our mission to improve the lives of dogs.
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) April 20, 2013
As part of a larger initiative to educate pet parents on how to have the healthiest and happiest dogs and promote the importance of responsible dog parenting, The Dogington Post and Merrick Pet Care teamed up to create “Merrick Pet Care’s Dogington University,” a series of eight live seminars presented by top dog trainers from around the world, which began April 15 and continues daily until April 24. A full schedule is available at http://dogingtonpost.com.
On Sunday, April 22 at 4:00PM EST, Broadway’s Animal Trainer William Berloni will present a live, one-hour training seminar to readers and fans of the Dogington Post.
Through a combination of persistence, patience and trial-and-error, Bill Berloni has developed his own revolutionary humane training techniques. Using operant conditioning and positive reinforcement, Berloni trains his dogs with cooperation and mutual respect. He never forces a dog to do something it doesn’t want to do, just as he would never force a person.
He explains, “Alpha dogs don’t walk through their pack, growling and snarling, they lead by garnering respect and being a leader that everyone wants to follow.” Berloni trains using regular, flat collars – no choke chains or pinch collars. No pain. No intimidation. Just respect and reward. His dogs perform because they want to, not because they have to.
As the Director of Animal Behavior for the Humane Society of New York, Berloni is passionate about animal rescue and adoption. Whether training dogs for Broadway shows, television programs, or movies, Berloni always looks for a homeless animal to fill the role.
During his live seminar on Sunday, Berloni will discuss his passion for rescuing dogs and the unique challenges he faces when training them for the stage.
“We’re getting a huge response from our Dogington University training series,” said Brandy Arnold, Content Editor for Dogington Post, “and we are beyond thrilled to have top trainers like William Berloni joining us in our mission to improve the lives of dogs.”
