Project 72 iPhone Game, Concepted, Programmed and Completed in 72 Hours, in Top 60 of All iTunes Apps

Dogtown Studios, creators of top selling iPhone games Zlider and Game of Da Dead, released their new game Project 72 less than three weeks ago. Created in only 72 hours, the game is climbing the charts of the app store Currently in the top 60 of all apps. Project 72 is also being featured by Apple on the front page of the games section.

Project 72, the iPhone game conceived, art directed, programmed and sent to Apple in a total of 72 hours by the four member team of Dogtown Studios, has broken into the top 60 of all apps on the iTunes app store within three weeks of its’ release.

The Dogtown Studios developers set up a blog and webcam while making Project 72, in addition to recording the entire process. Over 4,500 people watched over the course of the three days. “We had a great initial sales spike because of the blog we set up, mainly because folks were waiting for the game to come out.” explained co-President Mikael Tyrsen. Further bolstering sales is the front page placement on the App Stores game page. “It was a pleasant surprise to get the call from Cupertino that they were doing this.” said co-President Rasmus Hanson “They put us on the front page of the game section and we’re still there”.

Rasmus continued “We also have a high score competition. The current top score is 343,207 points. We’re giving away iTunes gift cards and limited edition t-shirts for 100 winners."
