Powerful, personal and faith-enhancing.
Grand Rapids, MI (Vocus/PRWEB) February 21, 2011
Self-proclaimed tech geek Dan Woolley, who was rescued after using his iphone while trapped beneath rubble of Haiti’s Hotel Montana, compiled photos, video and other extras for an enhanced eBook chronicling his experience in the only first-person account by a Haiti earthquake survivor, Unshaken: Rising from the Ruins of Haiti’s Hotel Montana (Feb. 2011).
The enhanced eBook version is available on Amazon and will be available shortly on the Apple iBookstore. It allows readers to experience the despair, hope and eventual rescue of Woolley through numerous embedded audio, photo and video clips including:
-- Full-color photographs from the 65 hours Woolley was trapped
-- Infographics specially designed by the author to help convey more information about the earthquake and his experience
-- Video and photos of his rescue/extrication from the rubble (video and photos)
-- First time he met the Haitian bellhop with whom he communicated beneath the rubble (audio and photos)
-- News footage before his wife knew whether Woolley was alive
-- Reflections from Woolley’s hospital bed
Due to a last-minute hotel switch, Dan Woolley, interactive strategies director at Compassion International, found himself at the epicenter of last January’s Haiti earthquake trapped beneath what was once one of Haiti’s finest hotels. Shortly after Hotel Montana pancaked, Woolley “was able to move around a little, using a light on his camera to illuminate his surroundings. And because he had downloaded a medical app on to his iPhone, he could do some self-diagnosis” (National Public Radio) and treatment of a badly-injured leg, deep cut on his head and the early stages of shock.
