Donald R. Frederico, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Boston office, has begun a one-year term as President of the Boston Bar Association (BBA).
The BBA is a professional membership organization comprised of more than 9,500 members drawn from private practice, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, the courts, and law schools. The BBA Web site notes its mission is: "To advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, to facilitate access to justice, and to serve the community at large."
Frederico has been an active member of the BBA for more than 20 years. Before assuming the role of President, Frederico held many positions within the BBA, including President-Elect, Vice President, Treasurer, Chair of the Nominating Committee, Chair of the Litigation Section, and Chair of the Board of Editors of the Boston Bar Journal.

Frederico, who co-chairs Greenberg Traurig's National Class Action Practice, is a senior trial attorney with more than three decades of courtroom experience. He focuses his practice on representing defendants in class actions and mass tort litigation.
Frederico frequently publishes articles and lectures before national and local bar and industry organizations on topics such as class action practice. He also serves on several non-profit boards, including the governing boards of the New England Legal Foundation, the Boston Bar Foundation, and the College of Wooster. He received his J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he was Managing Editor of the Cornell Law Review and a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional Law. He received his B.A. from the College of Wooster, phi beta kappa.
