This release acts as a base for PackFlash and its users to use in the future. Not only do we want to add connections to more social platforms, such as YouTube, we also plan on going deeper and adding more points of content exchange in both directions.

Organizations can longer afford to ignore the marketing channels provided by social media giants, FaceBook and Twitter. However, making sure that information is managed across these channels can be time consuming, and in a hectic schedule they are often neglected because there is not enough time in the day. For users of the popular open-source content management platform, DotNetNuke, there is an answer: the latest version of the PackFlash Publish module gives them the power to publish content to their website, Facebook page, and Twitter feed with the click of a single button.
The PackFlash Publish module is a software extension for the DotNetNuke content management system. The module provides the capability to publish articles and other media, and enables DotNetNuke to meet the needs of a magazine, newspaper, corporate newsroom, or any other publishing need including user blogs. The module was initially released in October or 2009, and the latest release, version 2.7, contains the Facebook and Twitter integration feature.
To use the new feature, web masters simply follow a process to “connect” their DotNetNuke websites to Facebook and Twitter. After this connection is set up, content creators can easily choose to update the social networks whenever a new article is published. The publisher has complete control over the message that is sent to their status or feed, and a “bit.ly” shortened link is automatically created so that followers can click to read the article. The updates to Facebook and Twitter can be timed according to a release schedule or posted “on demand.”
According to PackFlash CEO, Chris Risner, this is just the start of social media integration for PackFlash: “This release acts as a base for PackFlash and its users to use in the future. Not only do we want to add connections to more social platforms, such as YouTube, we also plan on going deeper and adding more points of content exchange in both directions." He adds, "Facebook and Twitter integration are a few of the steps that PackFlash is taking to make the DotNetNuke experience less cumbersome. This release makes it much easier to coordinate an update on the social networks with the delivery of content on a website by taking workflow and marketing schedules into mind. The person that creates and edits an article is not necessary the one that approves publication or dictates timing of the release on the website. In addition, there are good reasons to plan in the future for information to be pushed to the website and the social networks at the same time."
Social media integration is only the latest reason why PackFlash Publish is the best option for publishing articles on DotNetNuke. The module offers a very robust feature set, including flexible and customizable templates, image galleries, content relationship mapping, teaser views, reader commenting, an SEO friendly implementation, and administrators have complete control through a centralized dashboard. The module is also designed to work seamlessly with PackFlash’s other premium DotNetNuke products which include PF Video, PF Navigation, and several skins.
The PackFlash Publish module for DotNetNuke is available for sale at the Packflash.com website and on Snowcovered.com at PackFlash Publishing Module, the marketplace for DotNetNuke extensions.
