Hyatt on Capitol Square is pleased to announce that its executive chef, David Wolf, was inducted into the American Academy of Chefs Hall of Fame. His induction in 2010 represents a top honor from this prestigious organization and propels Wolf into an elite group of culinary professionals.

The honor society of the American Culinary Federation, the American Academy of Chefs (AAC), represents the highest standards of professionalism in the organization, society and industry. The AAC is an ambassador of culinary education and programs.

At the time of Chef Wolf’s induction into the Hall of Fame, 21 other chefs were also inducted into the Academy, along with six honorary members.

“This is a momentous award for Chef Wolf and a tribute to his passion for the art and determination for excellence that he brings to the tables of our guests every day,” said Nancy Dudak, the hotel’s general manager.

Chef Wolf’s interest in cooking began at age 14 where he helped to prepare traditional Italian cuisine in his grandmother’s kitchen. His first restaurant position at age 16 launched his lifelong career in culinary arts. Previous to Chef Wolf’s recent return to Hyatt on Capitol Square, he was executive chef with at Park Hyatt Philadelphia, now called Hyatt at the Bellevue. In Columbus, Wolf holds a seat on the Columbus State Community College Advisory Board. He is the Chairman of the American Culinary Federation Apprenticeship Committee and is on the Board of Directors of the Columbus Chapter American Culinary Federation. He has been a chef with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts for the past 20 years.
