Susan Lark, MD, noted medical researcher and women's health practitioner, is proud to introduce a new feature called "Beauty Corner" in her monthly health and lifestyle newsletter, Women's Wellness Today.
Unlike the cosmetic beauty solutions presented in many consumer magazines, the Beauty Corner segment will delve into the little-known underlying issues that are the root causes of women's most pressing beauty concerns. For instance, women often think that under-eye circles and bags are caused by lack of sleep and old age, and that only plastic surgery can help. But in most cases, these problems are caused by nasal congestion, fragile capillaries, thinning skin, hormonal imbalances, sun damage, and poor diet--all internal issues that can be solved by making non-cosmetic and/or lifestyle changes. Dr. Lark examines all of these underlying causes in depth and then gives safe, effective solutions, some of which include supplementation, diet/lifestyle changes, and hormone-balancing techniques.
Future Beauty Corner features that are planned for 2009 will discuss the internal causes and natural, non-cosmetic solutions for aging skin; crow's feet; wrinkles around the lips; and corns, calluses, and bunions.
"I am so excited about the Beauty Corner because it provides simple beauty solutions that most women have never heard of or read about anywhere else, therefore steering them away from drastic cosmetic procedures or plastic surgery--which can be ineffective if the underlying causes of the problem are not addressed in the first place! Women need to know that they have better, safer, and equally effective options to solve wrinkles, sagging skin, and other common beauty issues," says Dr. Lark.
The Beauty Corner will debut in the January 2009 issue of Women's Wellness Today. It will appear approximately six times per year.
Dr. Lark has devoted her career to raising awareness of women's health issues, such as PMS, obesity, hormone replacement therapy and osteoporosis.
