Both DrawNames.com and Lootjestrekken.nl aim to simplify gift-giving and have a little fun
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) October 20, 2009 -
Drawing names for a Secret Santa gift exchange just got a whole lot easier with the latest launch of http://www.DrawNames.com. This free online service offers the simplest Internet application for the popular holiday gift-giving custom of drawing names from a hat.
Without the use of logins and passwords, DrawNames.com utilizes just two emails to organize a Secret Santa gift exchange. A popular feature of the application allows members to ask their drawn person anonymous questions such as "What color?" and "What size?" The Group Organizer receives an extra email with the link to their Organizer's page where he/she can send emails to the Group, add or delete members, correct email addresses and re-send emails. As always, the Organizer can exclude members (such as spouses) from drawing each other.
DrawNames.com was completely rebuilt this year by the developers of its Dutch counterpart, http://www.Lootjestrekken.nl, the leading online Secret Santa gift exchange organizer in the Netherlands. The collaboration of the two websites is timely as America celebrates the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's voyage to the river valley now known as New York's Hudson River Valley. Dutch settlers brought their tradition of Sinterklaas with them, introducing the custom that Americans have fashioned into the Santa Claus we know and love today.
"Both DrawNames.com and Lootjestrekken.nl aim to simplify gift-giving and have a little fun," said Janie Schaeffer, founder of DrawNames.com. "We are excited to introduce the Lootjestrekken.nl custom of giving back to the community - in 2008 members of the Dutch website made a $28,500 contribution to a charity for handicapped children, setting the bar high for DrawNames.com which has a goal of matching this contribution."
Founded in 2002 by Janie Schaeffer, Drawnames.com is a free service that clears up confusion and makes it easy and fun for the group organizer to coordinate Secret Santa gift exchanges with friends, co-workers and families. Janie realized the need for such a service when her 17-member family chose to do a holiday gift exchange that was confusing, disorganized and led to duplicate gift-giving.
